The Miami Valley Christian Academy (MVCA) Capital Campaign received an early Christmas gift this week. MVCA was awarded an initial grant of $100,000 to help fund the establishment of a Praise and Worship Arts Center.
The project will involve a complete overhaul of the elementary chapel with a new roof, HVAC, stage, lighting, fixtures, furnishings and state-of-the-art audio/visual system. The center will house weekly chapels for the school and offer space for after school activities such as biblical dance, Davidic worship, visual arts, music and drama performances.
Lori Asmus, Development Director, explains that, “The goal of the Praise and Worship Arts Center is to provide a dedicated space for worship and praise incorporating various forms of artistic expression.”
In addition to the initial grant, the same foundation has issued a challenge match to encourage others to give. Paul Schacht, Campaign Chair, shares “We are really excited about this project. The Praise and Worship Arts Center will function as the spiritual hub for MVCA and is a key component of our strategic plan. This space will not only benefit our students, but will also be available for use by the greater community.”
